Cat's Place: Honolulu House

Stevendreamer sent me a folder full of lovely pictures of Cat's place, featuring Bahia Tiki's Honolulu House ( the green version). It looks fantastic! The use of the decks, the water, both the lake in the backyard and the ocean front, and all the detail they put into this setup makes Honolulu house look like the ultimate tropical retreat!

They opened up the space and there's a great Jacuzzi in the corner, and I love their beaded curtain:) Thank you for sharing your place with us, it's inspiring!

Hello Fall! Izadora's Zanzibar House

Izadora sent me pictures of her Zanzibar House in Fall version. I loved the way the house went from a beach cabin to a cozy Fall forest retreat! Izzy landscaped the surroundings with Fall vegetation, giving it an amazing color. Fallen leaves and a wonderful outdoor fireplace transformed her place and made it so inviting! Noe Wapi's Honolulu House

Today I got an invitation to visit Noe Wapi at his place in Fruit Islands. He got Honolulu House and set it up in an amazing beach cove with a waterfall, what a place! He was kind enough to give me some pictures of his House and what a great guy he was, lots of patience with my requests ! Congratulations on your new Honolulu House, Noe! Nice table too :)

Jane Goodwell's Fidji House

Jane invited me to visit her place at Fruit Islands today, after setting up Bahia Tiki's Fidji House. Her place is paradise: ocean and wave sounds everywhere. Jane made it a cozy tropical retreat with an amazing meditation area in the living room. After bossing her around for a good angle on the picture, I left her to relax in her fantastic home, where she entertains and has friends over to enjoy the atmosphere! Great job, Jane:)

Riot Grrl's Fidji House at Fruit Islands

Riot Grrl invited me over to see how beautiful her Fidji House looked. As I landed, I was impressed with the amazing views of the ocean and all the tropical vegetation she carefully chose to frame her house. She called herself a Polynesian girl, and indeed she knows how to make her Second Life little paradise a tropical retreat!
I was also impressed with the amenities Fruit Islands provides their customers with:  they have a multiple sim wide underwater area full of all kinds of fish, jelly fish, rocks and seaweed, not forgetting the hidden retreats for  everyone to enjoy:)
In the picture, Riot and a friend chill out on the front deck of Fidji House, and that's what Second Life is all about! Thank you for the tour, Riot!

Izzie’s Yoga Deck

Izzie sent me this wonderful photo of her new Bahia Tiki Yoga Deck, nested by the water in a lush tropical forest at her place. You can even see her practicing yoga in the picture! I recently found out that she is a very talented photographer in SL, and it’s always  a pleasure to see how amazing Bahia Tiki’s items look in her pictures and in her landscaping! Thank you, Izzie, for your generosity in sharing your favorite things and your talent with us!

Dabs Shamrock’s Casablanca

 

I was fascinated with the structure of North African homes: Morocco, Tunisia and  some cities in southern Spain, strongly influenced by Arab architecture. The idea revolves around protecting your home from the elements ( desert heat ) by creating an inner patio, fresh with vegetation and water features ( usually a fountain), decorative tile and a clever  use of the shade provided by the building around it.

All the rooms would open to the patio, and you would have a secluded refuge where all the family would hang out in hot weather.

Casablanca was inspired by that concept. It was a lot of fun making its first version and later on its upgrade. Even though we have no desert heat in Second Life, we can always enjoy the privacy and at the same time, outdoor living that the patio provides. Just in case you are lucky enough to have a beach front lot, I included a balcony in the back, which will allow you to enjoy the views!

Dabs Shamrock sent me a picture of a modification she made in that exact area of the house. She is the owner of Shamrock Estates and you can rent a house in her lovely resorts! Dabs replaced the enclosed walls of Casablanca’s bedroom with a panoramic window. I loved the effect and decided to show it to you to give you some inspiration

Yumix Writer’s home:the more, the merrier!

Yumix has a beautiful resort, with amazing landscaping and a very tropical feel!  I found Hello Avatar Cabana and Sunset Colonial House nested by a rocky waterfall and couldn’t resist showing it to you:



This peaceful resort appears to have some fun moments too! Yumix sent me a very sweet note with a picture and a video link to thank me and to show how many people managed to sit at the Beanbag Chillout! This beach set is scripted so as to rez an extra chair each time someone sits down, and I must admit that I had never managed to gather so many avatars to test it. Here it is:

Sunset Colonial House

Stoneready’s Sunset Colonial House and Amazon Tree House

Stoneready sent me the picture of his Sunset Colonial House ( from Bahia Tiki’s Houses around the World Collection), and it looks like it was made for this little tropical island! He has his boat dock right next to the house and lots of room to chill out on the house’s balcony and beach. Thank you Stoneready for sharing your place’s picture ( and for all the feedback on other Bahia Tiki products )

Stormy’s Tortuga House

Stormy shared with me how she modified Tortuga house, from the Bahia Tiki Houses of the World Collection; first of all, she lives in a beautiful place! She was also very clever as she included an extension of the 2nd floor bedroom to make a little balcony and in the front of the house, she added a porch with privacy blinds to maximize the area of the dining-room! Also, there’s a great hot tub area! It is exciting to see the great ideas Bahia Tiki’s customers have, and a pleasure to share those modifications with all of you! Thank you Stormy, what a great job!

Bea Messmer’s Amazon Tree House

Bea sent me a picture of her Amazon Tree house, which she modified not to include the tree. She placed it on a cliff overlooking a beautiful seascape, and her favorite place seems to be the balcony!
She also told me she was going through difficult times in real life, and this cozy little hut made her feel comforted. That made me happy.

She loves creating places for her friends to hang out, and makes them relaxing, Zen and cozy:
